4. Your screen name & a purely sweet song
Jennifer Juniper, lives upon the hill
Jennifer Juniper, sitting very still Is she sleeping? I don't think so Is she breathing? Yes, very low Whatcha doing, Jennifer, my love? Jennifer Juniper, rides a dappled mare Jennifer Juniper, lilacs in her hair Is she dreaming? Yes, I think so Is she pretty? Yes, ever so Whatcha doing, Jennifer, my love? I'm thinking of what it would be like if she loved me And how just lately this happy song, it came along And I like to somehow try and tell you Jennifer Juniper, hair of golden flax Jennifer Juniper, longs for what she lacks Do you like her? Yes, I do, sir Would you love her? Yes, I would, sir Whatcha doing, Jennifer, my love? Jennifer Juniper Jennifer Juniper Jennifer Juniper |

7. Thank you, my friend
A sophmore in HS, I had a little white transistor radio.
After 9pm I could pick up a station out of Oklahoma City, a thousand mile away. They always played this Hollies tune at 9:15 pm Yes. The station call letters were KOMA... they were larger than life from my little world in the middle of nowhere! ~~~~~~~~~~~ 😉 Co-written by veteran songwriters Bobby Scott and Bob Russell, He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother became a worldwide hit for The Hollies in 1969 and is considered one of the anthems of the 1960s, with its message of love, sacrifice, devotion, and service. I think of Vietnam, at the time & what challenged our generation. I was 5th grade when JFK was assassinated & it seems the shock & tragedies kept shoving us down just as we got back up with eyes to our future. Until one day we'd had enough. The music changed at that point & we dove in head first. JFK, RFK, MLK, Kent State, Vietnam, & on thru AIDS, & Gays...we were repetedly handed a cause to fight .& every college campus became ground zero for organizing, messaging. That was our 'social media', & it functioned like a 5G machine. Yes it did.. |
