(2,560 posts)I'd never heard of Mr Isbell until Thursday. He was interviewed on the Daily Show on Wednesday. I watch TDS the day after it's transmitted because I live in Europe. I knew nothing about Jason but he came across as an intelligent man with a sense of comedy and a sense of justice. He appeared live on the show, though it's featured as an "extra" on the TDS site. Then, on Friday, I spot this OP. Just coincidence? I doubt it. The Flying Spaghetti Monster does not leave things to chance.
So, this album is on Xmas list. Xmas is, let me see...in about two weeks!!! (My wife and I have agreements!)
So, many thanks for this post.

(13,188 posts)- Don't hate me, I don't watch much TV at all.
I've learned about several artists here and in the DU lounge as well. I'm glad that DU has so many knowledgeable fans.
When left to my own devices, I tend to listen to things that sound like music I already know, but in this forum I can get a taste of different genres and artists that I would not normally hear.
Peace

(2,560 posts)I watch a small number of TV programs, almost always via internet. I love TDS and two other spinoffs from Jon Stewart's time: Last Week Tonight (John Oliver) and Full Frontal (Samantha Bee). Not everybody's taste, but I like them. The only other programs I like are soccer, cricket and Aussie Rules football. I watch the occasional docu (The Killers (Netflix), The fall of Syria and the rise of ISIS (Nat Geo)), both very much worth watching (neither is pleasant viewing).
But 99.99% of what's on TV? Oh, please...
Santa's written to me from a country called Amazon in Germany and told me my June Xmas present should be here this week. Thank you, Santa...and lovely wife.
