- Variety, 'One Night in Miami Movie Review: A Quartet of African-American Legends Talk the Night Away in Regina Kings Captivating Directorial Debut. In Feb. 1964, Cassius Clay, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gather in a Miami motel room and they actually did in a compelling what-if? drama. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Cooke
One Night in Miami is one of those dramas with a hooky, irresistible meeting-of-the-minds premise that places four legends in a single room, all so that we can sit back and watch the verbal-philosophical fireworks fly. (2,220 posts)2. We watched this movie last night..
and I was still lying awake at 2am thinking about it. Might be the best movie Ive ever seen in terms of emotional impact. The actors were incredible. There were moments when they had their characters down so well that almost I swore it was the real person, not an actor. I cant recommend this movie highly enough.

so-so review I read. It's a great story of wide interest, all legends in a very important, special era.
