I will pull out a couple of my GG lp’s next time my son comes over for dinner. I especially am fond of the song “Last Voyage” which layers harmonies of thoughtful, mystical lyrics with beautiful musical accompaniment. He loves music of this era and often tells me of his recent discoveries of stuff from those days. Once he asked me if I heard of a song by Jackson C Frank, “Blues Runs The Game”. When I started singing it and explained my time abroad with a portable shortwave radio, listening to Radio Caroline and “pirate stations “, and that one tended to memorize good songs, he told me he heard it on a TV series “ This Is Us” . Now we watch that show intensely together and discuss it as we view it. After all , we only have one voyage.

I couldn't quite get into GG. But, I just got finished listening to VDGG's Pawn Hearts. Anything by Van der Graaf Generator could easily be classified as "weird". But, I love music this complex. There's always something there for you the next time you listen to it.

Even on this record there are some cuts that I can't really wrap my head around.

But the GG tracks I like, I love
