Have heard it referred to as "Newgrass" but Thile says it is actually not as much from Bluegrass roots as from a lot of other sources. Have you seen them or him live?

I think he is THE best mando player since Monroe. I used to play professionally. He inspires me to get another mando again.

There is a jazz influence that I really like. These guys are definitely in that group.
Have you heard of The Infamous Stringdusters, they are my favorites? They are a jam band. Their live concerts are amazing.

Checked them out. They are interesting. Very good. A bit more Country infused sounding though. I veer Blue grass more but will keep listening to them and checking out their music. I think Thile is a cleaner and more natural mando player though.....
