(113,755 posts)Saw Cab Calloway there, too. Grateful Dead and Meatloaf Bat out of Hell, both at The Fox Theatre. Consecutive nights.
Yep...eclectic.

(2,133 posts)Were great shows. I also went both nights. The second show is a Dicks pick and John Mayer picks the Sugaree in his top 9 songs. Alex Cooleys electric ballroom and the great southeastern ballroom on Piedmont. Buckets of beer

(113,755 posts)I never saw the Dead or heard their music, but, was put on the list by two strangers who I met who had just started running at the time. (I was a runner at the time, too). It was Bob and Mickey. Heh.
I took one of my best friends to the first show with the great eyes of the world. He thought the first set was the whole show. It blew his mind and couldnt believe the second set. He never looked back. We ended up going to many shows across the country. Red Rocks, Boulder, Hampton etc. To me the 3 greatest bands in concert are the Allmans, The Dead and the Who. Those other places in Atl. were cool places to go. I lived near Emory. I now live in Peachtree Corners. Are you still here?
