To every song, on both #1 Record & Radio City, backwards and forwards ...

Big Star are Gods to me

That's one of Alex's best, for sure ...

EDIT: just listened and belted it out, in your honor

Shoulda known you'd know this obscure band!

They're just amazing! Great songs, great harmonies. One of my favorites. Wish they'd broke out. As, deserving as Jellyfish. But, I kinda like that they didn't. Like Jellyfish, we connoisseur's get to revel in the music and revel in the obscurity... Only the cool are aware.

Not gonna lie, I didn't know Big Star 'til '87 when Pleased to Meet Me came out, with quite possibly the greatest homage song ever made 'Alex Chilton'

Then circa 1991 Rhino put out the long out of print #1 Record/Radio City dual-album cd ... which I've lost (or forgot to get back) like 5 times since then and bought over an over ... those two records are just stone cold AWESOME. Way ahead of their time for 1972/73 era, IMHO.

Speaking of that song ...

Indeed, that's another great one ... love that thick guitar tone. Seriously though every single song on both records is very good to totally brilliant ... mostly towards the latter

Now that I think of it, I sang 'I'm In Love With A Girl' to my wife at our wedding ... soon to be ex, but, hey ... I tried to start it right.

So I know I'm not the only person in the world playing it over and over, and singing along, all by myself, for the past 2.5 months ... and then let me know you did ... that'd be doing enough

Doesn't hurt that it's like the most beautiful f***ing song ever. Pretty sure I mentioned it before, but ... it gets better every time. At least, if you're me, right now

Thanks again for the company, and the RAWK!!!
