The production is fantastic, and that repeating riff is hypnotic.
The "La Las" create such a cool mode given the lyrics:
Music Nerd Alert:
The guitar solo is probably the only example of a full locrian mode used in a hit song. I would have noticed any others. Locrian just jumps out & bites my ear!

When I was in late HS, early college my dad got involved with this rock promoter.
The city wouldn't let them use the skating rink unless a local organization was involved & some proceeds went to charity.
There were 3 bands, every Monday from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
BOC was there every year until around 1977.
With my dad being involved, we had 4 backstage passes every week.
We hung out with those guys every time they came through. They were REALLY nice guys. My clearest memory is meeting Buck Dharma, i said "Great to meet you, Buck.". He said "Call me Don.". His real name was Don Roeser.
Every year after that, I called him Don.
The other yearly band that fit the super nice description was Rufus, with Chaka Khan. Charming folks.

Banking officer. My father completely ruined country music through the sixties for me.
