Related: About this forum"The Monkees" Christmas episode, December 25, 1967
Fri Dec 25, 2020: "Riu Chiu": On this day, December 25, 1967, the Christmas episode of "The Monkees" was broadcast.
I'd like to see that episode again, but "The Monkees" has disappeared from free, OTA (over-the-air) broadcast TV. Maybe it's on some network, but it's not one that shows up in northern Virginia.

Many years ago, I caught the end of the Monkees Christmas TV show. This is the episode in which they bring out all the crew members at the end. That's a good episode.
List of The Monkees episodes
Season 2, Episode 15. "The Monkees' Christmas Show"
Directed by: Jon C. Andersen
Story by : Dave Evans and Neil Burstyn
Teleplay by : Neil Burstyn
Aired: December 25, 1967
The Monkees try to instill the spirit of Christmas in a cynical little boy (Butch Patrick) who has soured on the whole idea.
Song: "Riu Chiu" (sung by the Monkees a cappella)
Notes: No laugh track. Instead of the standard closing credits, the Monkees appear on the set and invite many of the behind-the-scenes staff and crew members to appear with them on camera. The closing credits appear over the joyful crowd. As part of an elf costume, Davy wears Mike's iconic green wool cap.

Monkee-mania began in Los Angeles in 1965 when Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, the late Peter Tork and the late Davy Jones were cast in the eponymous television series about a struggling rock band inspired by The Beatles A Hard Days Night. The quartet brought a singular mix of pop, rock, psychedelia, Broadway and country to their resulting music. By the time the series aired its final episode on March 25, 1968, The Monkees had sold 16 million albums and 7.5 million singles. Few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would have on music and pop culture at large, one that still reverberates more than 50 years later.
