When life gets you down... what song always puts you in a good mood? Here's mine...

There are many others that do the trick for me... but this one always makes me smile. Also, it tickles me that the dancer in the electronics store (John) reminds me so much of my son. I've pointed it out to him, and even he sees the similarities (except that the dancer isn't a "ginger".)

A perennial favorite is

Good Noise by John Gorka. It also serves as an excellent reminder.

And absolutely anything from the Playing for Change project. So much joy and so many smiling faces to be found in the most wonderful music project ever, IME. Profits go to build schools in impoverished villages around the globe.

Their YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/c/playingchange

One great example is 75 Cubans from around the world playing and singing Guantanamera. It just gets me dancing in my chair. LOL

I always turn to their channel when I need to be lifted up. They've been doing this for 20 years now. I almost wish I were discovering it for the first time again. Enjoy!

ETA: if you turn the CC off, you can actually see where each musician is from, or sometimes where they're located while playing.

(Not that the song isn't great on its own -- it is criminally catchy and the artist. Kina Grannis, is phenomenally talented -- but the video especially puts a big smile on my face.)

depending on why I'm feeling down.

If I also need a jolt of energy, though, it HAS to be uptempo, and I'll listen to a couple of long-time favorites from the Eagles and John Fogerty.

And recently I've realized I can add a Golden Earring track to that short list, after seeing video of the band having so damn much fun with this song, which was a Top 10 hit in Europe but didn't chart here. I posted a thread with the song a couple of days ago - https://democraticunderground.com/103467781 .

This is my favorite Madness:

I went to see Bowie because Madness was opening for him!
