Is it just me, or do these songs sound a lot alike?

I'm showing the Patsy Cline versions rather than Hank Williams and Pat Boone to show their uncanny similarity. 'Love Letters' is a much older song and I've found no connection.

Both were produced by Owen Bradley and had essentially the same "Nashville A team" personnel playing. Both songs have a similar chord structure and Patsy's phrasing is similar on both records but other than that there's no connection that I hear. If Hank was "inspired" by "Love Letters in the Sand" and lifted some phrasing for "I can't help it if I'm still in love with you", I've never heard that.

I start humming one and go to the other. Yes, these are from my younger days. I didn't even know Patsy recorded both.
