(23,336 posts)I was seven years old when SitttinIn was released. I remember telling my dad how much I loved Kenny and I was going to marry him
my dad told me that Kenny was too old for me and I just didnt understand that at the tender age of 7.
When I graduated high school at 17, my moms best friends son, Bill, told me Kenny would be in concert in Berkeley and suggested I should fly down to see him and we would go to the concert together. I thought I was so smart and bought a one way ticket to San Francisco without telling my folks. I had no plan other than to see the concert. Bill picked me up at the airport, took me to my grandmothers in San Mateo and the jig was up. Grandma called my dad who wasnt very impressed with my plan. I saw the concert and then had to get a part time job to earn the money to get home while I lived with my grandma.
Totally worth it.

Kenny was one of my many musician crushes back then, too. I still love him to this day. This song of his will bring me to tears. Its about a lost love.
