(70,144 posts)i find it hard to argue. only trouble- he puts so much out there. you can listen in order and see him doin great and also crashing.
i can barely listen to white gardenias.

I will say though that Justin's first 3 were a brilliant run. And his final album Saint of Lost Causes was really, really solid, after a few records that were pretty spotty, as you suggest.

(33,643 posts)There's a video of them doing it from the same era ... though it's sadly somewhat grainy and low quality, I've watched it many times. Such a moving song. It can still cause my eyes to get damp.

(33,643 posts)I've know the song via the Waterboys album Fisherman's Blues from circa 1989 ... somewhat surprisingly, Steve's live version is arguably better.
I imagine you appreciate that one as well
