I remember the first time I heard "Dudes" when I went to a friend's house and he had it cranked on his Vacuum tubed Fisher amp. The audible clarity of that vintage rig really brought out the Bowie Production and made me a fan forever.

I just bought a recent Ian Hunter disc: "Defiance Part 1".

Saw them on "The Hoople" tour. '74 I think.
I had all 5 of their albums. Brain Capers was, I think, they're weakest work.
So did they, because they considered breaking up until Bowie rode to the rescue with All The Young Dudes.
I really liked Mad Shadows. And of course, Mott & The Hoople were outstanding records.
