From right here on Music appreciation, to friends and family, youtube, movies and tv shows, websites etc. But the stuff I like is down the list of being popular. Which is the way it goes.

..the internets, college and indie radio stations and chat boards for current music releases.
I still get excited when I find a song, ep or album that works for me.

Yes, the music usually is in sub-genres of a genre. Not top 500.
Will admit, I love the rush of the discovery almost as much as the songs.

The way he really dives into music. I've watched some of his videos where he takes apart some of my favorites, and shows his appreciation of the artists' technical and musical talent. Not being a musician myself, I like hearing how a recording was made and why the artist did something they way they did.

What I like is his continued enthusiasm.
He's been in the biz forever, but he's not jaded.
He has a thorough knowledge of music theory, but when he gets analytical he's talking to people like me, not the average listener. I think it would help typical viewers to grasp concepts better if he would slow down.
He's got LOTS of musicians in his subscriber base, so maybe he's assuming a highly knowledgeable audience.
