(152,536 posts)I love those probably more than the others! It was such an inspiring place and I had such a great time.

(3,830 posts)From the photo of the baby gator, I'll guess you were somewhere in Southeast Texas.
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,536 posts)I had gone to High Island and the Rookery. SE Texas sounds about right, but since I wasn't driving or doing the navigation, I can't be sure!

(5,372 posts)Thanks for sharing, Peggy. No moon shots? Well, I guess she is new or close.
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,536 posts)Yes, the moon will be new this Saturday, plus we're pretty much clouded out!
I'm hoping that I'll have clear skies next week when she's very slender.

And I fixed the other aquatic beast's proper name too.

I love all the photos, very artistically done. I guess I should have realized that TX has alligators. Its next door neighbor, Louisiana, has loads of them.
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,536 posts)Yup, Texas has alligators! Who knew? When I'm traveling, I just accept what I see and get busy taking a photo of it!
txwhitedove
(4,022 posts)alligators seen on hiking trails. I believe dogs not allowed in this park. Plus alligators often found in suburban garages especially after Hurricanes.

(10,518 posts)S.E. Texas borders swamp and pine forest and is close to the Gulf of Mexico. Oil was first discovered here thus all of the nasty refineries, but we still have beautiful scenery such as the Big Thicket National Preserve, beaches and a variety of other sights.

CaliforniaPeggy
(152,536 posts)We did see quite a few of those, but they were inaccessible along the major roads. And I am home now, so my opportunity has passed.
I will post the Blue Bonnet photo that I got, here. Hope you like it!

Well, maybe a few from Texas!
Nice snaps!
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,536 posts)I wouldn't have missed the egrets for anything!
Especially these, since they were sitting still for a change!
Glad you enjoyed the photos.

(152,536 posts)My friend AndyS, who escorted me and who lives in Texas, told me that April is a transition month, with some days more wintry and some days summery!
I had mostly wintry weather.
We had a great time and saw so much beauty everywhere. I'm really glad I came!

(152,536 posts)Photographic Impressionism! Wow.
I knew the moment I saw this bit of water that it was perfect for the capture I had in mind.
I got busy, and voila! Here we are.

The photos that you and others post in the Photography Group are inspiring and uplifting. After reading some of the depressing war and political news, I come to the Photography Group for some relief ❤️

(29,537 posts)I think you might consider submitting it to Nat Geo or National Wildlife, or another of those annual nature photo contests. (or DUs )
I would love this embodied serenity on my wall.
Is the yellow-green underneath a foreground plant?
CaliforniaPeggy
(152,536 posts)Very kind of you to say so, but remember that there are multitudes of great photographers everywhere!
If an appropriate contest shows up here, I would certainly consider entering this photo.

I would be more than happy to send you the file! PM me your email, and it's yours. I would only ask that you credit me if you turn it into a photo for your home.
