Now and then, I would remember to record what we ate, whether AndyS cooked it, or when we were eating out. Following are some of those photos.
Enjoy!
And...
Bon Appetit!
A shrimp recipe (don't recall the name) plus salad and French Bread, at Andy's home:

(149,616 posts)Believe me, he is a great cook. I was afraid I would gain while eating there...but he predicted that I wouldn't, since we walked and walked and WALKED!
I lost a pound.
His cooking skills are amazing.

Looks like a shrimp-a-looza over there!
All those look great. Food is a universal language, kind of like music is.
Glad you all had a fun time and thanks for sharing!

(149,616 posts)There was a LOT of shrimp everywhere. Luckily we both love it.
We had a great time. And you could not be more correct: food is a universal language, much like music, or photography!
My pleasure to share, as always.

(14,559 posts)hole in the wall motel located in the wide spot in the road known as High Island, home to Smith Oaks Sanctuary. '70s vintage remodeled and operated by a Chinese family. The ONLY place to eat for 15 miles and it was absolutely great. The manager is the Owner/operator (it's kinda funny to listen to him mutter at his computer in Chinese) his wife is housekeeping, brother in law is cook and restauranteur and everybody else fills in as needed.
If you plan to visit the gulf coast of Texas for birding I cannot recommend the Gulfway inn highly enough. Besides, there's not another motel for 20 miles . . .

(23,985 posts)...favorite sushi and tempura place not far from the air base. Really tiny place. We went there very frequently.
The owner's brother was the sushi chef, and he was licensed to prepare blowfish. I was never brave enough to try it.

(149,616 posts)The scavenging birds do a great job (at no cost to the taxpayers!) by cleaning the dead animals right down to the bones.
We didn't get out of the car, so we couldn't smell anything. I was just happy to see them at work.
