I took my photo in Smith Oaks Sanctuary, TX. Andy had been there before and wanted to see it again, and I was game, so we went. This bird really cooperated!

I decided to write its name on the photo. I'm curious as to how the members of the Photo Group, and of course, of DU at large, will respond to my doing that.

Great entries so far!

(Just kidding) 😉😁

I was going to enter a shot that is almost identical to yours.

I guess it's time for Plan B.

Good luck!

I think the same ones came back from last year. She came right up to the window and looked me in the eye and I’m sure I felt recognition, maybe crazy.

was that I missed living in a place that had four seasons! There are days here, though, when I wouldn't mind trading the humidity of summer for the coastal May gray and June gloom of early summer beach fog in California.

The high contrast in “Maui Blue” and “Buttonbush” are stunners. “Pollen…the good kind” was another — the individual pollen grains and composition, wow. “From the cold dark ground…” says spring to me (lots of personal memories associated with daffodils, jonquils, narcissus, etc.).
