Related: About this forumMy imperfect owl would've been a second entry for November's contest. But it wasn't to be . . .
Nevertheless, this refrigerator magnet has been with me for years, moving every time I did. Along the way its nose got broken and the end of its branch sheared off. But blotches notwithstanding, this owl is special. Owls have long held a mystique for me and more than once I have stood and stared at this one.

(16,389 posts)Early every Sunday morning, DU member SalmonChantedEvening makes a post that consists of a varied mix of images, collated from a variety of sources, mostly featuring animals of various types (especially cats, but all kinds of other things as well). Included are funny cartoons, photos with hilarious captions, and cute and/or beautiful animal pictures of all kinds. These posts are a lot of fun, and a lot of us look forward to them every week.

(1,535 posts).....which engenders something of a small competition among DUer "nightowls" to be the first to respond to a new post. A nice collection of photos, cartoons, images and memes, different every week. Funny stuff, and the wildlife photos are usually very good. I think that he must have a cool photo of an owl every week, but just watch, this week, if you look, there won't be one.
