These photos show my wedding ring, going around it to show the details.

I was very lucky to have a good friend who knew an artist who made jewelry. I wanted something personal, something that spoke to me about who I am.

These views show that I got just what I wanted.

It's a lost wax ring, which is a type of casting. Hope you enjoy!

Your wedding ring is an absolutely stunning work of art. Is it made of white gold?

Thank you, Peggy for sharing your photos of it.

Yes, it's white gold. I really didn't like yellow gold all those years ago! Of course, since then, I've had and loved many pieces that were made from yellow gold.

You're so welcome! I love to share.

...and the symbols/images? How meaningful to have something designed just for you.

What a treasure!

Some of the symbols seem as though the artist knew what I would like, even though we hadn't talked about them at all.

It was truly a different sort of experience for me. He had made lots of jewelry, none of which attracted me at all!

Except for one ring. The ring had a section that looked like I thought a wedding ring should look like. I showed it to the artist, and I told him that I wanted my ring to look like that.

He heard me. I also said I wanted it to be broad to complement my long fingers, and he did that. And I wanted it to look organic, and he did that!

A truly sensitive artist. I was blessed to find him.

Thank you for asking!

may I ask if you requested an inscription on the inside - initials/date or loving phrase for the event or perhaps the jeweler's signature handmark?

It has indeed stood the test of time, being sturdily made.

I actually had not thought of doing anything on the inside, when the ring was being made.

And the pattern that was made by the wax (which then gets burned away after the gold is put into that mold) actually shows through to the inside of the ring.

It would have been difficult to have anything engraved on the inside. And the jeweler didn't sign it, although I still remember his name!

It was such a happy time! My then-boyfriend told me that when the ring was done, we would be engaged. It took a week and there we were!

6 months later we were married.

And we still are, 57 years later.
