the brain's tendency to assign meaning to random patterns. You see a pig's head; others might see an eagle landing. I see both and many more besides. The entire object looks much like a manta ray. If the photo is viewed on a cellphone screen the larger patterns stand out but the subtleties are lost.

I didn't see "wings" until you and Peggy pointed it out. The design in the middle looks like a pig snout to me, still.

By the way, the Lord of the Flies was a landmark book for Mom, my sisters and me. We discussed it for a couple of evenings after we all read it. Another was Carrie.

Once again, love your work!

the lighter shaded area, and above that a bird with speckled white and blue wings. There are other seemingly significant patterns as well.

I'm glad that you enjoy my art. Thanks for viewing it and commenting!

I've read Lord of the Flies several times; the first as required reading in a junior-high school English class, in which we also watched the 1963 Peter Brook film based on the book. The characters I could most relate to were Piggy and Simon. Unfortunately, I've known quite a few Jacks and too few Ralphs over the years. You're fortunate to have had a family book club!

It rather looks like a flying thing, or a bat or something like that.

It's cool!

Thank you for sharing.
