M101 the pinwheel galaxy

now that ren faire season is over i can get out to shoot more often. took advantage of clear skies last night to use some new equipment (a slightly larger telescope ,an astrotech 72 ed with an effective focal length of 344mm)

this is a 200minute total exposure (40 5 minute shots stacked together) of M101 the pinwheel galaxy about 20 million light years away. in the top left is another galaxy ,NGC 5422 which is about 100 million LY away plus in the lower right is NGC 5474 which is also about 20 million LY away
