…flashlight, I’ll often come across toads of assorted sizes. I’ll reach down and gently scratch the tops of their heads. Some seem to like it, others hop away, and some puff up and do little toad pushups - trying to look intimidating, I guess.

Not downright ugly but not graceful and bright like Leopard frogs or Tree Frogs. Still they border on handsome in their own humble way.

I wish I had a yard with a water feature. What company installed it.

Even a tiny pond, man made, can help bring and support wildlife in an area.

7. It's a little kidney shaped pond about 4' x 2' and maybe 2'

deep. It has a solar pump that circulates the water in the daytime. A couple of bags of river rocks and some large stones I had on the property finish it out. Total cost about $400 from Walmart plus a sore back for a week or so

I added a dozen goldfish which was too many for the pond but the local egrets took care of that and the count is down to 4 now.

I watched many youtube videos on it. They sell kidney-shaped ponds at Lowes, etc.

I was also watching vids on homemade waterfalls, elaborate and simple. If I could win lotto

10. If you want really cheap think about a small kiddie pool.

Somebody still has to dig a hole but that and a cheap solar pump would set you up. Yeah it's bright blue to start with but half way through summer and alge turns everything dark. You'll need something to stop mosquitos and a trip to the nearest bait shop will get you a dozen minnows for a few bucks.

No one to dig a hole? Think about a wash tub above ground--same pump and minnows. The sound of water is very soothing if you can stand the heat in FL or TX.

Just some ideas . . .
