The article is a little fluffy, but hits on the key features: 1" sensor, optical viewfinder, and f/1.8 lens. Bit pricey at $800, but sounds like a great camera for traveling ultra light.

1. Pocket or compact camers are far from dead, but inexpensive P&S

Cameras have been replaced by high end products like the Oly Pen series, the Sony M3 and others for serious photographers and cell phones for the casual user.

Fortunately Nikon and Canon were slow to this market allowing some real innovation from "third tier" manufacturers. Its good to see the likes of Fuji, Sony and others being very competitive in this market.

2. I started my photography hobby with a P&S.

Quickly outgrew it and went to DSLR, but the convenience and accessibility of a high quality P&S is still desirable. Glad to see this too.
