Today's "in search of…"

I headed to Snell Valley to check out the wild flower situation. It was a little too early to get a good showing, and the light, although better than yesterday, had the poppies still snoozing. I did find one clump of wild iris, though.

I decided to revisit Guenoc, just up the road, to see what was happening there with better light. Well, red winged blackbirds were happening. This fellow was nice enough to pose for me.

It was still early so I decided to see if my pelicans were still there, and to shoot the lake with brighter conditions.

My Pelicans were fewer in numbers (there were 20 or 30 yesterday, but only this handful and one solitary bird today). They swam in this perfect flotilla, except for the singleton.

I stopped at the osprey nest again and was fortunate to have her out on the pole. Got a quick snap before she flew off.

And below the nest, some wild fuchsias (I think) that really popped in the better light.

I love red winged black birds. There are a lot where I live. The pelican photo is nice, too. They got in a nice formation for you with that guy at the end.

White pelicans will soon be migrating through Colorado and we enjoy them while we can.
