I think they make wonderful subjects for photographing.

...all of these looked a bit more interesting when I posted them this morning, after a night without sleep.

Now that it's the full light of day, as it were...

Ah, well.

And the tiny bird in the context of the big telephone pole is what I liked about it. He/She has their own perspective on life, right there. Plus, just something about the size disparity, and the form of the pole, wires, etc.. I even like the color version, although as I said to Solly Mack, they all appeared more interesting early this morning after a night with no sleep, than they did later in the day.

My wife had business in town yesterday evening, so I wandered around while waiting for her. I haven't gotten comfortable with photographing people on the street, so I just sort of potted away at things. Imagination was lacking, as is obvious from the result.

I'm not using the Auto or P settings now, trying to shoot everything on Manual settings and using a 35mm prime lens exclusively, and using the manual focus more often. I don't get as many decent shots as I'd like, but I'm also getting some that I really do like. And I'm starting to shoot more in B&W, and hoping alfredo will share some constructive criticism; or anyone, for that matter, because I have much to learn.

Let me also take a moment to say, in light of recent events, that I really value your contributions to the Photo Group.
