sunset walk on the summer solstice

we went for a walk in one of my favorite little natural areas last night. we startled some deer and a great blue heron, so no pics of them. the light wasn't great for getting the little bunny rabbits.

the pics make the sunset look a bit more dramatic than it was, but it was still a pretty nice sunset.

the thistles are up

and things are green again

it rained for so long that i got out of the habit. now if i could just get one of those coloado sunsets. those just seem to happen when i'm at work and can only watch through the buildings across the street.

I saw one of the biggest herons I've ever seen fly overhead last night.

maybe some day i'll get a photo

i've been working on macro with the camera and i'm glad the thistle shots came out. husband pointed out to me that there's a spider in the second one. didn't even notice it.

I was up for our sunset at 11:45 p.m. or so, but it was overcast here, so no pretty pictures. We lose about 9 seconds today, all downhill from here.

but in a month or two, we'll start losing five or six minutes a day. That gets real noticeable, real fast.

it was hot yesterday, so it was a bit hazy. i'm glad it didn't dull it too much.

I really like the reflection of the sun on the water. But all of them are so nice. Looks like you had a great walk.
