a portrait of Buddy....
This is Buddy, our current oldest senior. My partner estimates his age as sixteen years old. He has an interesting story-- he was rescued by one of Dick Cheney's buddies in Wyoming, and flown on a private jet to Denver, where my partner worked for the man at the time. The salt and pepper in his face has developed over the last several years. He's stone deaf now. Tonight we watched him struggling to climb the steps to the back deck. There are two steps. He's getting old.
I have more difficulty photographing dogs than cats. It's harder to catch their personalities in an image, I think. I haven't really succeeded yet.

BTW, I'm taking and sharing these because we've lost five cats during the last three years, all to old age or age related illnesses, two this summer alone. They were well loved and lived long and healthy lives, but I didn't have a good camera to take photos of them, and I simply won't let that happen again. We'll have these photos and all the others I've shot of the pets we live with today. I so wish I could go back and get photos of the ones we've lost.
