(2,541 posts)I am on my patio looking at it right now thru a telescope and it looks gorgeous!
Thanks for the pic.

(149,712 posts)Ah, sometimes I wish I had a telescope.......I could really pull the moon in with one of those!
I really love the sliver shape.

(2,541 posts)The rims of the craters in that orange hue are magnificent to look at. If I had the ability to capture an image with this (very outdated) telescope I would post it for you. I am sure you would love it.

(149,712 posts)You know I would love that image. Just seeing the little bit of those craters in my photo make me very happy.

(149,712 posts)Monsoons pretty well put an end to any moon-watching.
OTOH, they do bring much-needed rain. We could really use some of that here, since the hot dry Santa Ana winds are blowing now. They are the hot dry winds out of the NE and they dry out the vegetation, making it much more flammable.

I hope you are forever safe from any fires.

(149,712 posts)The Santa Ana winds are blowing, and they bring hot, dry air to LA. The fire danger rises along with the winds.
However, we live near the beach and fires here are essentially unheard of. We feel very safe, and thank you for your kind thoughts!

(149,712 posts)We could sure use the rain, but not the rest. Hope the storms leave you wet but otherwise undisturbed...
