Happy Thanksgiving to all DU'ers from one of my favorite spots (the beach) and favorite time of day (sunrise).
I am very thankful to be in such a beautiful place right now.

(31,389 posts)every morning and on the beach for sunrise.
Two weeks ago I moved here to a rental house one row back--separating from my husband--and I will be here until the end of March (off-season). Can't afford it after that. I have my dog with me, so although we get up early to walk, we haven't been up early enough every day to get on the beach for the sunrise.
I do have quite a few of my best beach sunrise photos--from this same beach--posted on my website, which you can find here

(60,334 posts)But we are not near enough to the beach to catch many sunrises.
I did catch one crossing the bridge on Monday.
Here the sunsets are dramatic as well.

(31,389 posts)I have been thinking that when the divorce is final--which requires a 1 year separation before you can file in NC--that I'd like to settle permanently somewhere with a view of water, whether ocean, River, Marsh, lake. I just love being near water and having expansive views of sunrise and sunset.
Here in Emerald Isle, NC, the island faces south. It gets both sunrise and sunset views over ocean or intracoastal waterway, depending on the season.

(22,380 posts)that this is a transformational and emotionally trying time for you!
I'm happy your love of water, and your ability to be so near it during this time, helps soothe your soul.

(8,308 posts)I spent a week in Myrtle Beach many years ago and got up every morning to see and shoot the sunrise over the ocean. This was back in the day when we all used film for pics so those are all filed away in scrapbooks now.
Wishing you a lovely day.
