Edit* I have been informed that monthly contests are in hold during seasonal contests so this will now be April's theme. Lots of time to find your happy thoughts*
April's theme will be "If it makes you happy"
A picture that makes you smile for any reason. It can be a pic you were excited to catch. Maybe a proud moment.
Or go snap a picture of anything that makes you happy. People, places, things, ideas, whatever. Break out your crazy edits. Sky is the limit on this one. Just have fun!
Will post reminder and start submission thread in April.

(149,762 posts)It was decided some time ago that one contest per month would be enough.
Here's a link to the thread where this is discussed: https://www.democraticunderground.com/103614595

(776 posts)Unless I'm missing it. Doesn't matter to me one way or another. I'm happy to take a freebie this month but the thread should be edited to reflect specifically that season contests take over monthly

(22,380 posts)In March we are running the Seasonal contest for Winter, and skipping the monthly contest, so as I see it you are on for April.
I am noticing you don't have a star, and that is a must for being able to make polls, so please get a star.
But I cant find that information anywhere. Can the powers that be edit the contest posting thread?

DU rules preclude anyone without a star from running polls--not just for photo contests--for any reason. It costs $1. to get a star.
If getting a star isn't possible, then the winner of the contest agrees to find someone else to host the next contest.
The photography forum has an understanding that if someone doesn't have a star and wants to participate in the contests, the person
should be willing to either donate in order to get a star in case of a win, or, agree to find someone else with a star to host the contest.
