7. Thanks. It was sitting on a prickly pear fruit.

These flies visit the same spot over and over again. Dragonflies do the same. I guess it is a good vantage point.

from about a hundred years ago (I'm an old guy) recommended taking a hundred pictures and discarding 99. And this was in the days of film. Still good advice, though.

5. i noticed some pretty green flys on something in the garden. took some ok pics. not enough pixels.
