I absolutely LOVE Texas Canyon (in Arizona, of course!)! On my winter trip list.

I spotted a fire on Lime Peak, in the Texas Canyon area (and north of I-10), in 2014. It was about 60 miles from my position in Lemmon Rock fire lookout. The Coronado National Forest old-timers could not believe it. No one had EVER spotted a fire that far away in the Coronado before (I had done it regularly, with cross-azimuths from other lookouts in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest). My size-up was 10 acres. When air attack got over the fire, he said "14 acres .. exactly where Lemmon Rock lookout said it was".
