I offered to help Dyedinthewoolliberal by reposting the Preliminary Threads because he had some difficulty with the polling component and life had gotten in the way of redoing the threads until later this evening.
I have asked him to delete his original preliminary threads so there won't be confusion.
Here are the threads. Please keep them kicked.

(86,880 posts)it's been so long and I think I've only done it once.
Guess I should re-establish my photobucket account.

(149,753 posts)They want around $400/year to allow you to post your photos on 3rd party websites.
I'm using SmugMug where the prices are much lower! And they do a nice job.

(86,880 posts)I was using their free service but I need to find something. I'll give that one a try.

(149,753 posts)if you want to share (and who doesn't?) then it costs a lot. I was pretty disgusted with Photobucket for this.
Best of luck!

(22,380 posts)Thank you for doing this. I know from experience that what you did was the heart of running a contest, and it is work, and time consuming. You are a pro at it, but it is still a huge gift to have given.
You had to start from scratch and save all the photos etc. before even creating the threads.
Proud! Thanks.

but I don't save all the photos to my own hosting site. Don't know if others do what I do, but when I create a thread I simply copy and paste the photo from the Submissions thread. If you right click on any photo that has already been posted on DU, there is an option to copy image location and that's what I do.
I usually copy and paste the photo titles, too. It makes putting a thread together for preliminary rounds go very quickly.
Happy to help get the prelims up.

(22,380 posts)I must admit I do it the same way. And still it is a job that requires my full concentration, a good amount of my time, and still something can go wrong and I break out in sweat.
Also, every time I do it a little more hair grows on my chest. Again: thanks for being willing and coming through. It's a gift.
