While my camera is still out from yesterday

It’s a thank you rose someone left on my porch after a dinner invitations. It was left two weeks ago. Since then I smelled it, fingered it, asked it. And it tells me it is real.

I bought it in the gift shop at Biltmore in Asheville. Former home of the Vanderbilts, and supposedly the of largest single family home ever built.

It is now a tourist town akin to Jackson Hole, Key West and Palm Springs. Lovely. Expensive. And the locals are not happy about that their industry is mostly service to tourists.
