I saw a flash of red in the back corner garden. So I investigated.

I shouldn't be surprised it is a Poppy. They have been popping up in all of my flower beds, this year - mostly the frilled variety. This simple Poppy is my favorite.

The neighbor boys would steal the seeds, I'm sure thinking of getting high on opium. Doubt there were enough seeds to do anything with other than making poppyseed bread, etc.
