Close up images of insects.

I don't know whether anyone here is interested in insect photos, but these are some of my recent images. These specimens were all collected in northern California. Full resolution images are at https://mcamann.smugmug.com/Insect-macro-photography . I'm just beginning to learn how to capture and process these images.

This is Gelastocoris oculatus, the big eyed toad bug.

Buprestis aurulenta, the golden buprestid beetle.

Digitonthophagus gazella, the gazelle scarab beetle.

Laphria sackeni, a bee mimic robber fly.

I hope you enjoy them!

Come to my place! See the common fly in full stupid mode. I moved back in after 7 months of no occupancy. Central Maine. I have had the vacuum running 3 hours a day for 7 days. Finally gotten ahead of the bastids.

Half retired though. But I still have my lab and the university collection, so I'm going to bust out a bunch of these in the next year or so. The link will be forever, hopefully. I hope your dad enjoys them!

These are gorgeous and breathtaking!

They are little works of art, for sure.

Thank you.

but have no fear, I found your bug photos anyway and they are magnificent! Thanks for sharing these. Although I'm not all too fond of bugs, there are some exceedingly beautiful ones.

Also, I took the liberty of viewing your Death Valley photos as I've been there several times. You've got some wonderful shorts there.

The link problem is the period at the end of the sentence. DU is including it as part of the URL. It's fixed now.
