Much easier tonight! A lower angle and way fewer clouds make for a happy photographer. I used my tripod, cable release and my right angle viewfinder, all to my satisfaction. Hope you all enjoy.

(6,635 posts)I'm glad tonight's picture wasn't another pain in the neck - we get enough of that from D.C.
Your mention of a right-angle viewfinder makes me curious - what equipment do you use for your lovely lunar photos?
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,771 posts)Well, what equipment?
Yeah, the right angle view finder if the moon is up too high! Also, my tripod for stability and less shaking, for a clearer image. And my cable release for even less shaking.
Thank you for your very kind remarks!

(6,635 posts)Do you use a telescope, and what kind of camera do you use? You've probably mentioned this in the past, but I've forgotten.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,771 posts)No, I've never had a telescope. My camera is a Nikon D3200 and my lens is a Tamron 18--400 mm (made for Nikon).

(6,635 posts)My refractor telescope needs one, but I had no idea they made them for cameras.
BTW, that's a nice bit of kit you have there!

As said in my note, I was absolutely stunned after seeing how much more information there was in your photo!
1) Converted to B&W
2) Brought to full range on mid-tones and contrast
3) 50% heavy sharpen
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,771 posts)That is amazing!
How did you accomplish this?
And this is a jpeg. Imagine what it would be like if I were shooting in RAW.
Thank you so much.
