Great Blue Heron

I know, I know .. it's REDDISH. But my ornithologist nephew assures me that this is a Great Blue heron.

[The Jungle 1]

1. They are such a cool bird.

They come to my pond in the summer. Only thing is they get all my frogs. Poor frogs.
In the winter they hang out in the Butter creek swamp.

2. Such elegance. So much movement in its posture, and in the sand and water.

3. They come to my pond, also.

They, too, eat the frogs. Now we have a loving pair of geese. They hang out in the pond and on the grass for a couple of hours almost every day.
