It was so powerful it makes me wonder if the producers staged it. I hope not, but the solution word to the challenge puzzle earlier in the episode got my paranoia antennae perked up.

I am guessing the people involved in production knew about Zeke when he was first on the show. Just like they know the professions of some people who choose not to reveal it. However, it was just so shocking the way this happened! I think stupid Varner was trying to be dramatic and make a name for himself and had NO idea that the entire group would turn on him. He flat out lied and stammered when he was trying to make up for it. But his life has been hell since then so maybe he learned a thing or two.

From what I've read, Zeke did tell the producers when he was on the first time. But they left it up to him whether or not to reveal it. So it never came out on that season. This time obviously Varner figured it out this season and both of them have said that Zeke did NOT tell Varner. It was definitely stunning and I was relieved when the rest of his tribe supported him 100%. I even got teary-eyed over that.

Yes, Varner has been fired from his real estate company and had tons of hate mail etc. I hate what he did but I can't imagine how he must have dreaded waiting for 10 months for this show to air. I had read that he was suicidal but one actual quote from him in an interview said that he would not do that and has had great support from his partner. I also hope he has learned a lesson and things will die down after awhile. Some comments have said that Zeke has been 'out' since he was at Harvard back in 2009, but I have no idea of that is valid info.

Should be an interesting episode after the merge!!!

and it seems like the second time wasn't any more memorable. But this ought to do it! I suspect they will bring him back somewhere down the road.

I have a teeny bit of sympathy for him as a human being but I can't believe he didn't know exactly what he was doing. It just happened to backfire on him.
