1. It's one of my favorite shows, but I am waaaaay behind.
Maybe I can binge-watch some episodes this weekend, and get back to you.

2. I love that show, but I've been obsessed with a new reality-style show lately...
it has this Russian mole win the Presidential election and he starts destroying the country from within.
Glad it's just fiction, cause that plot would scare the hell out of me if it happened in real life! ![]() |

3. They refuse to return to Russia
Mostly for the sake of their children.
That has happened in real life. |

4. I think a confrontation has to happen between Stan and the Jennings.
Do we root for the Jennings to "win"?
What is winning for them? At the very end, I'd love to see Elizabeth win the USSR finally crumbles? I don't know that we'll make it to 1990 though. How will she cope? How will Philip? I love that every character is moral gray. I do think Oleg is toast though. |

6. very good Claudia theory
"Claudia's plot on The Americans: A theory Claudia is back. Be afraid. Be very afraid. It's no secret that The Americans' Philip and Elizabeth are in a fragile place. (The camera has made that clear all season.) And at the intersection of all their conflicts — between Philip and Elizabeth, and their respective relationships to Russia — is Claudia. That Margo Martindale is back — given the rough history the Jenningses have with her character — makes the Centre's configuration seem more opaque (and Elizabeth and Philip's relationship to it more brittle) than ever before. This is true for viewers too: Now that Arkady and Oleg are gone, we're basically blind to the Rezidentura's thinking. The one thing we do know is that Tatiana Ruslanova — not known to be either cautious or moral, given her participation in the dangerous and controversial Department 12 — is in charge. We also know that Claudia trusts the Jenningses less than Gabriel, their departed handler, did, and that the feeling is mutual. I am worried. The wheat mission is starting to seem like a (cough cough) red herring, one intended to keep the spies busy. As our president might say, something is going on." http://theweek.com/articles/694683/claudias-plot-americans-theory |

7. I think they're going to turn themselves in
to Stan Beeman and be put into a witness protection program. I definitely do not see them returning to Russia--although lately we've seen a lot of Philip's son Mischa.
Am I alone in my distaste for Paige? When she was setting up that punching bag, I thought she was getting out the rope to hang herself, and I cheered right up. To no avail. |

8. I don't see them turning themselves in.
I think they are going back home and be disillusioned like Oleg. They have years to think out all the things they did and for what good? A USSR that falls apart, embraces corruption and finally capitalism.

9. I dunno
Henry's going to that private school has been emphasized in the last couple of episodes, how important it is to him and how Philip and Elizabeth understand that he needs to go there. And now they've gotten rid of that pastor, whose presence was making Paige crazy. I think the idea of taking their kids to Russia really bothers them. For a couple of years, Philip has reveled in living in the US--he used to be so enthusiastic about living in the US that Elizabeth suspected his loyalty to their work.
But time will tell. It's a show I enjoy; I just hope they wrap it up well. |

11. It can't end well
No matter what happens, it's not going to be a happy ending.
If they get arrested—by Stan—it will be both parents and Paige. They will try to get Henry off saying he knew nothing. But he will get dragged into the mess. If they go back to Russia, and both children go, they will not be happy with the actuality of life in Russia. Food shortages, constant surveillance, poo living conditions. And Paige might want to learn Russian. But Henry will be miserable. As a little twist, Stan Beeman will find out—after they have fled—the truth about them. This will cause him problems. If he reveals the truth, the FBI will consider him the dumbest agent they ever had. If he doesn't, he can be blackmailed by the Center. If they go to Russia, it could be without the children. Some fake "accident" will kill off the parents. Paige will know the truth. Henry won't. But Paige will be happy as she will be used by the Center to keep spying. Henry will know nothing. And will be miserable with his parents dead. ![]() |

12. I've got 24 episodes on my DVR. Pretty sure that's two full seasons.
So I want to say Yes, I'm watching it.
But the evidence suggests otherwise. ![]() |
