"The Big Bang Theory" Is Coming To An End In May 2019

The massive CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory will be ending in May 2019 after its 12th season, the network announced Wednesday.

The Big Bang Theory is both the current No. 1 sitcom in the world and now the longest-running multi-camera series ever, with 279 episodes.

In a joint statement, the network, studio, and producers of the show thanked fans for the incredible success of the show and promised an “epic creative close.”

The final season of The Big Bang Theory will premiere on CBS Sept. 24.

Although it has had it's ups and downs over the years. It's generally been a good laugh in times when that is all too necessary.

If you want a "comedy" on what it means to be a genius in a university / research setting, "Real Genius" is much closer to reality.

It's a comedy.
Fans don't watch it for "reality".

In the past someone posted,
they didn't like it because real scientists don't act like these guys.

11. It makes fun of "nerds"

and being a nerd... I've never liked the stereotype.

If it was another group that so stereotyped and used as a mechanism for humor, people would be horrified.

Let's say race or gender preference.

In fact, there have been shows like this for other groups... and they are gone now.

3. I will miss it

The writing and acting have stood the test of time unlike many other shows.

4. I loved it from the start. The most unlikely cast of characters EVER

but something about every one of them just contributed to the success of the whole enterprise. I wish them all the best in their future endeavors, and I thank them for providing a lot of much-needed laughter in frequently depressing times.
