The Fugitive

I've been hooked on this show. MeTV airs them every late Sunday/early Monday mornings. But I get a huge enjoyment out of David Janssen as Dr. Kimble. I never knew it was originally a TV series. I only saw the movie with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. Didn't know it was a remake from it.

Anyone watch this during it original airing? Not asking for spoilers lol but yes no spoilers lol

I was in high school then. It was a very popular show. It was based on the true case of Dr. Sam Sheppard, who went to jail for killing his wife. The case was highly publicized and very controversial.

There was a lot of sympathy for the real Dr. Sheppard. Many people thought he was innocent. It is quite likely that he did not get a fair trial. He was eventually released from jail, and he died young. Years later, many experts felt that the real Dr. Sheppard did kill his wife after all.

I still watch it today. The acting was superb, with a lot of famous people in early roles. The scripts were fantastic. I didn't really care for the movie. I much prefer the series. I wish DirecTV carried MeTV, but they don't.
