so any guesses on who the informant who is ratting on Brenda Leigh Johnson?
My bet is Gabriel.

David Gabriel is a Detective Sergeant in the LAPD's Major Crimes Division. He has a Masters in Public Administration from USC, which he got with the help of Commander Robert Taylor. He has expressed interest in going into politics. He dated Detective Irene Daniels for a year and a half. Their breakup has been difficult for them both, and there constant bickering has been problematic for their squad. He was suspended for 10 days without pay for beating up a suspect in a child abduction. Said suspect confessed, to Deputy Chief Johnson, to her rape and murder and that of two other girls before he killed himself.

And I think the only person she can really trust is Sanchez.

But I've just moved so I missed the last episode. You may be right.
My second choice though is Gabriel. He's seems so "moral" that he may have major issues with the way she runs things...

sanchez has played lots of bad guys. The way he stands while waiting is like a Marine at parade rest. And next to Fritz, he's smoking hot. I'm glad they are both staying.

..my guess is it's the person who's missing from the cast of that show... I can't remember her name right now, but there's a lady detective on the Brenda's team... I haven't seen her in any of the trailers for the new show, so my guess for now would be her...

The only other female detective was the woman dating Gabriel and she was written off a few seasons ago.

I just read that JK Simmons is not coming back as Pope. So that's three cast members who are gone.

It is probably Gabriel, but then again it wouldn't surprise me if Pope was a rat.

10. Any thoughts on how they're sending Brenda off?

I was initially wondering if she was going to take some high profile job elsewhere but TNT has indicated that Jon Tenney (Fritz) will be making guest appearances on Major Crimes. That kind of ruled out my theory unless he and Brenda are splitting up.

As to the mole, I originally thought it might be Buzz, who sees and hears a lot and would not have the same 'blue line' loyalty, but he's on the new show. Gabriel did end-run her once, going to Pope when he thought that she was making an error with a case involving a missing girl and a white collar drug addict witness/subject. But it's hard to see him really backstabbing her with an outsider unless he was being blackmailed over something.

At any rate, I'm glad they're going for the spinoff. The squad is such a great ensemble cast.

His new girlfriend is a plant from the sleazy lawyer, (I can't recall the name) from about 18 moths ago. The sleazy lawyer hooked him/ set him with the with the lawyer Ann Mason. Gabriel's' break up with Irene Daniels was more then 2 seasons ago. Unbenownest to Gabriel h would, gave the sleazy lawyer enough info , through Ann Mason to get Brenda Leigh rolled on thru pillowtalk with gabriels new girlfrien Gabriel, was unhappy with how Brenda forced was by Pope & an ADA, to let a known murder walk . They forced her hand on that to let the known killer walk, & he was killed by 'unknown' gang members. Brenda Leigh couldn't tell Gabriel due to Pope And the ADA who forced her She once told him, she could get a crew just like just them again in her office, but there was only one him, and David couldn't/shouldn't be exposed to everything and the rest of the crew( like provenza & flynns' dead hooker for example) I bet he will be introduced to and Washington PD her previous employers, with the CIA, so i think he will be leaving for CIA and Washington.I think Fritz will stay, but be much less helpful to Sharon. I hope Brenda Leigh and will be working on her marriage to Fritz, will be taking care of her very sick father. Pope has sold he r out for a higher position, in the LAPD, i do not think that he cares about her any longer I really think Gabriel has enough to Raydor when she got off her elevator on todays show, and saw the Gabriel & Ann playing some kissy face.
course a dollar thirty will get me a small coffee, double cream, i could be worng, but i think i'll be bettinh a lotta coffee.

12. You know, irisblue, I got to thinking the same thing while watching

tonight's episode.

I can see how Gabriel could innocently spill the 'beans' to his new lawyer girlfriend. It's plausible.

I've been thinking all along it was Will Pope, & after watching the last two episodes, it looks like that's what the writer's want us to believe.

I don't want this series to end. I love The Closer. My DVR is filled with nearly 40 various episodes, because the program is like comfort food, it's always nice to have a visit with the gang from the Major Crimes Division.
