I thought it was much better than the 80's Richard Chamberlain mini-series. It still didn't live up to the novel, in my opinion, but it was quite enjoyable nevertheless.

The one thing that bothered me was using the name Anjin-sama instead of Anjin-san. I'm not sure why that was changed for this series, or what the distinction is, but it really bugged me. If anyone here speaks Japanese, please help explain that for me.
