Cinemax's "Banshee" premieres tonight ....

From the creator of 'True Blood,' 'Banshee' stars Antony Starr as Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he continues his criminal activities, even as he’s hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier.

this is a definite watch for me. I meant to post this when I did the other, but I've been so freakin' busy this week I completely forgot.

I will let a few episodes run before I watch then do a mini marathon that way I'll know if I like it. I hate doing it one at a time.

not happy that I haven't either. Things have been a little crazy for me. I'm going to make a conscience effort to watch some episodes this week. Every time I see previews for it I want to see it more.

I'm sure I'll like it, since you do, we seem to have the same taste.

Back atcha...a heart for you cuz I'm happy to have you as my buddy! It's cool to have someone who has a lot of the same tastes as me, and doesn't think I'm a freak for watching so much tv. I also pop over to the fiction group to see what everyone is reading and get some ideas on authors. I think I've posted twice there.

From the previews I kinda had my doubts but was pleasantly surprised. I think it's going to be a good show.

just wish it didn't have to show us EVERY time Lucas gets sex. I really don't give a crap that they are so graphic with it, I'm just pissed that they waste so much time with it instead of on the story line. The episodes are short enough, I want more story line time!

Apparently, graphic sex scenes are their hook. As far as I'm concerned, they don't need it, but I guess they're going for something...edgy beyond edgy. Even so, I don't need to see all four position changes, know'm say'n? That cunnilingus scene in Episode 1, however, was very surprising. Never seen a mainstream actor go as far as she did on the small screne. The graphic sex may not be creating the buzz the producers were expecting, though. People talk to each other about sex, but they don't talk about porn. And the bottom line for me is, I can watch True Blood with my seventeen year old niece, but we sure as hell can't watch Banshee.

like you said "And the bottom line for me is, I can watch True Blood with my seventeen year old niece, but we sure as hell can't watch Banshee."

It also kinda bores me so I just fast forward through it. Just a waste of good air time imho.

Maybe if I was 20 instead of 50, I'd find the sex scenes more interesting.

Nowadays I say, "Get to the story!"

take the visual sex scenes or leave them. My imagination has always worked just fine. For me & this show it really all boils down to don't waste time on those and give me more, more, more story, so I hear ya!
