to get his comeuppance. Part of me feels sorry for him but he's such an unpleasant person. I also thought something would happen to spoil Lady Edith's wedding.

he was keeping from her...would sort of make him more likeable in the long run.

asking her to marry him years ago (before WWI) if he was gay. I'm thinking he just doesn't want a young wife, kids.

I'm glad the manor was saved and Matthew agreed to take the money left to him.

I'm ready for more to develop regarding the Irish rebellion and Tom and Sybil.

Did you see the look on his face when they were standing in the hallway and she said something like (paraphrasing here), "I want it to be my life's work," after he said something about how she was gonna end up taking care of him and pushing him around in a wheelchair? He was OK until she said that, then his face just fell. She was oblivious, but I think he didn't much care for what she said, and that was what made him change his mind. I thought it was a crappy, thoughtless thing for her to say. Who wants to be someone's "project"? That was the turning point, I think.

I keep wondering if/when "Patrick Gordon" will show up again. I don't think we've seen the last of him.

That would really throw a wrench into things, especially with Matthew becoming part-owner of Downton.
