Should I watch Revenge?

I know that many people really like this show. I didn't read OKNancy's thread on the show because I've never seen it, and I didn't want any spoilers, but I see that it has a decent number of replies, so I assume others here like it as well.

Here's my problem: I've recorded 10 episodes on my DVR, but I haven't watched any yet, mostly because the second episode didn't record for some reason. I've been hesitant to start the show, because I'm afraid that without the second episode, I will not fully appreciate the later ones. Is that going to be a problem? Can I get by without the second episode? Or should I just wait for the DVDs and clear up a lot of space on my DVR by deleting the 10 episodes and start over in season 2?
