I Want To Believe! X-Files reboot is happening with all the original players

No truth to the rumor X-Files actually takes place in a series of books by novelist Hank Moody (This is Agent Scully, I'm Agent Muldur mutha fuckahhhhh!)

Believe! That X-Files Reboot Is Actually Happening

A few short years ago, the rumors that Fox might be rebooting the The X-Files might have been dismissed as fanboy wishes. Sure, what’s next, Firefly? But we’re living in a post-Arrested Development/24/Veronica Mars/Twin Peaks reboot world and, if Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, Chris Carter, and Fox are all game, then I want to believe.

Over the weekend, Fox confirmed that they were in the logistical phase of rebooting the series. That is to say, they were checking to make sure they could get all the original players back and available at the same time because, Fox promised, they’re not doing The X-Files without Mulder and Scully.

But the big push to revive The X-Files didn’t come from Fox or even from the show’s creator, Chris Carter. It came from Scully herself, Gillian Anderson. Earlier this month on The Nerdist podcast, Anderson said she would be “f—ing overjoyed” to make more episodes of the show that jumpstarted her career. (Despite the fact that she’s currently starring in The Fall.) Anderson and hosts Chris Hardwick and Matt Mira encouraged listeners to tweet the hashtag #XFiles2015 and the response was overwhelming.

But it’s hard to imagine Carter, whose recent Amazon series, The After, failed to get off the ground, would hold out in the face of such overwhelming enthusiasm from fans and cast members. Duchovny told USA Today he’s “happy” and “excited” by the prospect of a series reboot.

Lot of gold to mine here!

Back in the day, Gillian Anderson brought the 'fox' to Fox and was the most looked up person on the Internet - oogling before googling!

As I recall, Duchovny was the bad Beatle who broke it up. It went on awhile without him - I continued to watch, and there were good episodes and characters, but it wound down.

I liked both movies, both got a little better effects, grittier, stories not their best but still interesting. And Scully and Mulder were back.

Today, with 10 episode runs and better effects and loosened ratings, this show could go for the jugular. An older and wiser Mulder and Scully, missing planes, climate change issues, Koch Brothers, how did Gore really lose, and deflated footballs -- oh, yes, I'd watch!
