Mother reunites with family after banned from U.S. for more than 10 years
TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - 2009 was the last time Gloria De La Rosa was able to call the United States home, leaving her family without a mother.
14 years and 99 days later – De La Rosa’s children and family anxiously awaited her arrival at the DeConcini Port of Entry with balloons and flowers in hand, and arms open wide.
Being able to hug her loved ones, Gloria’s eyes are filled with tears of joy, but the long anticipated reunion cannot give her back any of the 14 years she lost with her family.
“I cannot explain my suffering for each one of my kids,” Gloria De La Rosa said. “I went to bed frustrated, not knowing if I would get a call one night that my kids are sick or unwell, and having no way to see them.”
